Tim Aste from Garage games recently posted some comments in the Tribalwar forums hinting of a new Tribes game.
Posting as "ajaxprojection", Tim left these messages in this thread at Tribalwar.

A new Tribes game created by the guys at Garage Games would indeed be exciting news. The new Torque Shader engine is amazing, and would allow the flexibility Tribes deserves. Let's hope a third installment of Tribes is in the works.
MarkF is Mark Frohnmayer, one of the founders of Garage games, and responsible for Tribes revolutionary network code, and much of the original Tribes.
France is home of Vivendi Universal Games, VUG for short.
VUG owns the Tribes intellectual property.
