ICQ protocol change. (Again)

AOL changed the ICQ protocol over the weekend. If you use Trillian or other multi messenger programs, you won't be compatible with their servers.

I did some checking and Trillian basic doesn't support it yet. Some sources claim Trillian Pro is working, but I don't know for sure.

I really liked using Trillian, and would probably buy pro right now if there were any indication on their website it worked with the new protocol. There seems to be some indication Trillian Pro will work by upgrading through 'help> check for updates' but I haven't confirmed it. Updating in this manner may also check your registration key and revert your install to 'Basic'.

It would have been nice if they had supported trillian Basic, instead of only Pro with an added key checker...

Their forums seem to be overloaded at the moment, so Miranda looks like the only solution besides an adware version from ICQ.

Newest build:
http://www.miranda-im.org/release/
and the update:
http://forums.miranda-im.org/showthread.php?t=6869

Please note the newest version of Miranda, and the update are necessary.

Update: Trillian 3.1 Basic IS compatable..

When MSN 8 comes out, the old servers won't be available anymore (that's what it says on the ms beta website).

I dont know the real version bart,... but it's different :P
